#1. Chicago Marathon

- Women
- A near WORLD record and an American Record headline the Chicago story.
- Ruth Chepngetich (Kenya)

- 65:44 first half
- 65:44

- Chepngetich is the first woman in history to break 2:18 on three separate occasions.
- 2nd overall female was American, Emily Sisson
- 69:26 smashing the previous American Record set this year by Keira D’Amato.
- 16:19 best 5k at 35k-40k
- From 40k to the finish, she went even faster as she ran it in 7:00, which is 15:56 5k pace.
- Puts her #22 on the all-time world marathon list.
- 3rd place was Vivian Kiplagat (KEN) — 2:20:52
- Second American was Sussana Sullivan in a time of 2:25:14.
- While at Notre Dame, her PR in the 5k was 16:56. She ran near that pace for an entire marathon in Chicago.
- Third American was Sara Vaughn 2:26:23
- Previous guest Makena Morely was 10th place (5th American) in a debut time of 2:30:28
- Ruth Chepngetich (Kenya)
- A near WORLD record and an American Record headline the Chicago story.
- Men’s Race
- Benson Kipruto (Kenya) was the men’s champion in a time of 2:04:34
- Personal best for Benson.

- and Mammoth Track Club’s Nico Montanez (13th, 2:09:59)
- Today was just the third marathon in history in which four Americans broke 2:10 in the same race. Meb Keflezighi, Ryan Hall, Abdi Abdirahman, and Dathan Ritzenhein were the first quartet to do it at the 2012 Olympic Trials. Then seven guys did it at the 2020 Marathon Project, led by Martin Hehir in 2:08:59.
- Benson Kipruto (Kenya) was the men’s champion in a time of 2:04:34
#2. B.A.A Women’s 10k
- Previous guest Erika Kemp won in 32:14
- “Your friendly reminder to stay the course – easier said than done BUT those handful of days where the stars align and everything works out are 100% worth it.”
#3. AR pacers?
- The Ghost Pacer augmented reality glasses project a live holographic opponent into your field of view that paces you and pushes you to perform at your best.
- Kind of laughable on the website they write, “You cannot train alone and expect to run a fast time.” – Eliud Kipchoge, marathon world-record holder
- The Ghost Pacer companion app allows you to race against your friends, even if you can’t train at the same time. Even if they don’t have a Ghost Pacer, if they use Strava, you can race against an avatar that mimics their pace on a route.
