The power of the running partner surpasses the enormous benefit of running faster and reducing the mental load. Running partners also add value to runners through relational health and well-being. The camaraderie established through blood, sweat, and tears while training and racing can make athletes feel known and understood.
In this week’s episode we have not one, but TWO professional runners on air to talk about their experience as running partners and friends. Emily Oren and Leah Falland are top-level Steeplechasers and Olympic hopefuls. They are part of a professional team in Boulder, On Running Club coached by Dathan Ritzenhein. - Emily holds Hillsdale College’s 1500m and 3k Steeplechase records.
- Two-time Detroit Half Marathon Champion
- Represented Team USA- finished fifth in the steeplechase at the U.S. Track and Field championships in 2018, winning Oren a spot on the national team.
